Allergen Testing by ELISA & PCR
ELISA detects target proteins; PCR detects target DNA. Processing, extraction, cross-reactivity and matrix interference can affect results, and DNA detection is not a direct measurement of allergenic protein.
Specify allergen, food/cleaning-swab matrix, processing history, required reporting units and method suitability. A negative targeted result does not demonstrate every allergen absent or substantiate an unrestricted allergen-free claim.
Request the validated matrix scope, controls, reporting limits and intended regulatory/customer interpretation. Rapid on-site swabs are screening tools; confirm whether laboratory analysis or additional investigation is needed.
