Preparing an accurate scope-of-accreditation and method listing

Your scope document from the accreditation body is the authority. Your website and marketplace listing should mirror it, not paraphrase it into something broader.

Mirror the official record

Copy designations, editions, matrices and ranges exactly as they appear in your accreditation body's published scope. Buyers can confirm that the body is a recognised signatory through ILAC [2], and bodies such as ANAB describe their international recognition arrangements publicly [3].

Method listing fields

For every method, record the information ISO/IEC 17025 expects you to control for method selection and verification [1].

When an edition changes

Treat a new edition as a change control: check differences at the publisher, verify or validate, then ask your accreditation body how to update the scope. Use the verification guide before advertising the new edition [1].

Practical guidance for independent laboratory owners. Laboratory Vortex does not accredit, certify or audit laboratories, does not sell standards and provides no access to copyrighted standard texts.
