Tracking ISO standard changes for laboratory methods
ISO catalogue pages show the current edition, publication date and review status. ISO open data offers the same kind of metadata in machine-readable form.
Read the catalogue page
For example, the ISO/IEC 17025 page lists Edition 3, published 2017-11, and states it was last reviewed and confirmed in 2023 [1]. A confirmation keeps the edition current; a revision creates a new edition.
Use open metadata
ISO publishes datasets describing deliverables, technical committees and ICS classes, released under a licence that requires attribution [2]. Metadata tells you that something changed, not what the new text says.
Action steps
Practical guidance for independent laboratory owners. Laboratory Vortex does not accredit, certify or audit laboratories, does not sell standards and provides no access to copyrighted standard texts.
