Stability Testing & Controlled Storage
Source independent stability testing and monitored chamber storage for pharmaceutical products and medical-device programmes. Storage capacity, stability-indicating testing, sterile-barrier aging and shelf-life interpretation are separate deliverables; availability must be confirmed by the provider.
Methods, standards and specialized scopes
Scope pointers only—not copyrighted standards text or a claim that an edition is current. Confirm required edition, jurisdiction, product applicability and provider qualifications before work.
- Pharmaceutical stability: agree applicable ICH Q1 guidance, dosage form/container, target markets, conditions, time points and stability-indicating analytical methods. Confirm current regional adoption instead of assuming a universal protocol.
- Controlled storage: specify temperature/humidity, tolerances, mapping/qualification, calibrated monitoring, alarms, excursion handling, backup capacity and inventory reconciliation.
- Medical devices: ASTM F1980 accelerated aging may support relevant sterile-barrier/device aging programmes with justified assumptions and real-time aging. It does not automatically establish drug stability or every device functional claim.
- ISO 11607 context concerns terminally sterilized medical-device packaging. Package integrity, seal strength, device performance and product chemistry may require separate tests after aging.
- Cold/refrigerated/frozen and photostability studies require product-specific conditions, transfer controls and documented sample handling.
- Food shelf-life work needs product-specific microbiological, chemical and sensory endpoints, packaging and realistic storage/abuse conditions. Challenge studies need specialist containment and justified organisms. Do not extrapolate a food safety or pharmaceutical stability claim from a sterile-barrier ASTM F1980 aging calculation.
Typical applications
- Long-term and accelerated drug-product programmes
- Outsourced stability chamber storage
- Medical-device aging and package validation support
- Excursion investigations and programme transfer
What to include in an outsourcing brief
- Product/container, intended claim, market and approved protocol
- Storage conditions, sample inventory, time points and analytical endpoints
- Chamber evidence, monitored records, retrieval schedule, excursions and reporting responsibilities
How to outsource this work
- Describe the objective, samples/data or site, required method and deadline.
- Laboratory Vortex reviews your inquiry and coordinates clarification with independent providers where appropriate.
- Compare proposed scope, relevant experience, method suitability, confidentiality, responsibilities and price.
- Agree terms with the provider. Laboratory Vortex does not perform the service, certify results or guarantee availability, quotes, awards or turnaround.
