Equipment Qualification & Validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)

Source qualification and validation specialists for laboratory instruments and systems. Qualification evidence must reflect your actual installation, methods and regulatory context — generic certificates do not transfer.

Methods, standards and specialized scopes

Scope pointers only—not copyrighted standards text or a claim that an edition is current. Confirm required edition, jurisdiction, product applicability and provider qualifications before work.

  • URS and DQ: define user requirements and verify the design/selection meets them before purchase or installation.
  • IQ: documented verification that installation, utilities, environment and configuration match manufacturer and user requirements.
  • OQ: operational testing across specified ranges, including alarms, limits and worst-case conditions relevant to your methods.
  • PQ: performance verification with your actual methods, matrices and operators over a defined period.
  • Calibration and metrological traceability are related but distinct from qualification; both may be required.
  • Computerized system validation (CSV) and 21 CFR Part 11 considerations apply where electronic records/signatures are in scope — confirm applicability to your regulatory context rather than assuming it.

Typical applications

  • New instrument installation in a regulated laboratory
  • Requalification after relocation, repair or major service
  • Periodic review and change control for qualified systems
  • Analytical method transfer onto qualified equipment

What to include in an outsourcing brief

  • Instrument list with manufacturer, model and intended methods
  • Regulatory framework (GMP, GLP, ISO/IEC 17025, CLIA) and internal quality requirements
  • In your inquiry include: project objective, sector, geography/facility location, target timeline, indicative budget range, and any confidentiality constraints (NDA requirements, export controls, proprietary processes).
