Viral PCR, RT-qPCR & Viral Load Analysis

Scope target-specific nucleic-acid testing for research or authorized manufacturing support. Clinical diagnostic use requires separate authorization and is not implied by a provider listing.

Methods, applicability and limitations

High-level scope references only, not standards text or a claim about a current edition. Confirm product applicability, adopted edition, jurisdiction and provider authorization before ordering.

  • RT-qPCR includes reverse transcription for RNA targets; DNA PCR and RNA assays need different controls.
  • Extraction efficiency, inhibition controls, calibration material and limits of detection/quantification define whether viral load can be reported.
  • Genome copies are not infectious-virus counts. Specify qualitative detection versus quantitative load and normalization.

Sample and project requirements

No universal sample quantity is promised. Ask the receiving provider to confirm containers, minimum amount, preparation, hazards, storage, transport and acceptance before collection or shipment.

  • Target, matrix, study purpose and expected concentration
  • Collection medium, storage, freeze/thaw history, extraction and containment needs
  • Controls, quantitative units, calibration traceability and interpretation limits

Compare provider proposals

  • Request the selected method, suitability work, controls, detection/reporting limits and stated exclusions.
  • Confirm relevant experience, actual accredited or authorized scope where needed, subcontracting and quality responsibilities.
  • Agree raw data, reviewed results, interpretation, confidentiality, price and a provider-confirmed schedule.
  • Laboratory Vortex coordinates requests; independent providers perform the work. No capability, award, compliance or turnaround guarantee is implied.
